Moore County ECA Cookbook

Moore County Extension & Community Association (ECA) has just published a new cookbook, “Generations of Floured Hands”, a collection of more than 400 recipes gathered from the early 1900s to the present.

The cookbooks are being sold for $10 each by ECA members and at the Moore County Extension Center, 707 Pinehurst Avenue, Carthage, NC.

Of particular interest is a “Heritage” section that includes recipes were gleaned from a 200+ year old home, grandmas’ collections, and favorites of  “Home Demonstration“ ladies in earlier years, many  of whom have passed away.

Also included is a sprinkling of current members’ favorite daily recipes and those of family members throughout Moore County and even across the nation. Our hope is that the traditions of family gatherings with bountiful meals and sharing of these and your favorite recipes will continue for years to come.

The purpose of this collection of recipes is to preserve a part of our past that would be lost. Proceeds from sale of  “Generations of Floured Hands” will be used to enhance programs to support the young people, elderly citizens and those in need across Moore County. Moore County ECA is a 501c3 non-profit organization.
