Mobile Poultry Processing Unit

We have poultry processing equipment available for small-scale poultry producers to rent. Available rental equipment includes:

  • Featherman processing equipment (restraint cones, scalder, dunker, plucker).
  • Tables (2)
  • Food grade hoses (3)
  • Spray nozzles for hoses (2)
  • Coolers (2)

You will need to furnish:

  • Propane tank(s) for scalder
  • Knives and/or shears
  • Cleaning supplies (soap and brushes) and disinfectant (bleach)
  • Ice for cooling your chickens
  • Packaging materials for your chickens

**All of the rental equipment is stored in an enclosed trailer and must be removed from the trailer for set up and operation.**


How to Rent the Mobile Processing Unit (MPU):

  1. Review the availability of the MPU on the public calendar.
  2. Fill out the Google form to formally begin the process.
  3. An agent will contact you to complete the reservation process.
  4. Pick up the MPU on your designated date and time and perform a pre-rental inspection.
  5. After use, return the MPU on the designated date in the manner in which you received it for a post-rental inspection.
  • We will need a copy of your driver's license. The rental fee is $75 per rental period.
  • The equipment is available for pick up on Friday with return on Monday or pick up on Tuesday with return on Thursday.
  • Before you rent the MPU with us, you must be present for an initial training on how to operate the equipment.
  • Pick up time is anytime between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm.
  • You will need a 2 inch ball trailer hitch and standard trailer light hook ups (4 prong plug) to use the trailer. Trailer lights must function properly to rent the equipment.
