Gardens

Moore County Cooperative Extension's demonstration gardens are living classrooms that showcase gardening practices, plant selections, and landscape techniques that perform well in the Sandhills of North Carolina. Each garden is designed to educate, inspire, and demonstrate research based horticultural principles in a real world setting.

Whether you are looking for ideas to incorporate native plants, attract pollinators, improve soil health, or create a more sustainable landscape, our demonstration gardens provide practical examples that you can apply in your own yard. Throughout the year, these gardens highlight seasonal interest, proper plant care, and environmentally responsible gardening practices.

In addition to serving as educational displays, the gardens provide opportunities for hands on learning through workshops, volunteer activities, and Extension programs. Visitors are encouraged to explore the gardens, observe how plants change throughout the seasons, and discover new ideas for gardening in the Sandhills.
