Moore County Youth Leadership (MCYL) Camp is designed to empower the next generation of leaders through hands-on experiences, financial literacy education, and direct engagement with local government, agriculture, and community history. This exciting opportunity is perfect for youth interested in leadership, public service, and developing real-world skills.

Camp Details
This event is hosted in partnership with N.C. Cooperative Extension, Moore County Chamber of Commerce, and Moore County Government.
Dates: Tuesday, July 29 – Friday, August 1, 2025
Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM daily
Location: NC Cooperative Extension – Moore County Center
Address: 707 Pinehurst Ave., Carthage, NC 28327
Cost: $20 per participant
Eligibility: Youth ages 12–18
Lunch and snacks will be provided daily through the generous support of Moore County Government.
Daily Schedule Overview
9:00 AM – Meet at the Moore County Extension Office
10:00 AM – Daily Community Tours
Each day features a unique theme:

Tuesday: Local Government – Tour of the courthouse and emergency management

Wednesday: Agriculture Day – Visit to a local Moore County farm

Thursday: County History – Learn about Carthage, the county seat of Moore County, including a walking tour of the Carthage Digital Video Mural Trail
- Friday: Brunch with county commissioners, brief learning experience session, and take part in the Real Money. Real World. financial-literacy simulation
12:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Lunch & Leadership Curriculum
Afternoon sessions will focus on building leadership, communication, and decision-making skills through interactive activities, including the Real Money. Real World. financial literacy program.
Please note: Drop off (9:00 a.m.) and pick up (3:00 p.m.) for each day is at Moore County Agricultural Center at 707 Pinehurst Ave. Carthage, NC 28327.
Transportation will be provided by Moore County 4-H for all tours.
